Gardening and off-grid tours of Wintergreen will be held once a month from June through October. Come to this free event and learn about how our straw bale lodge keeps us cool in the summer and warm in the winter, with the help of the sun (and a bit of propane!).

View our traditional gardens, including a Victory Garden modeled after a mid-size WWII garden in Pennsylvania – full of vegetables that are easy to grow and do not require a large amount of space. Another traditional garden at Wintergreen, popular in many First Nations cultures, is the Three Sisters Gardens. It features corn, beans, and squash – plants that thrive when grown together. Another garden based on the principle of companion gardening is our not-so-traditional “Spaghetti Garden” featuring basil, tomatoes, parsley and ot
